I've loved wine for years. Not in the swirl-and-spit, tasting-notes-in-a-leather-journal way. In the way where a glass of the right red turns a Tuesday pasta into an occasion, and the wrong one just tastes like disappointment you paid for.
Somewhere along the way I became the friend people text from the store: “Having salmon tonight, what do I buy?” And I realized something that changed how I think about wine entirely.
That's a completely different question. And it's the question the wine world is weirdly bad at answering. Walk into wine culture as a curious beginner and you're met with regions you can't pronounce, scores you can't interpret, and an unspoken feeling that you're supposed to already know.
It's the only hobby I can think of that greets newcomers by making them feel underdressed. So I built the site I wish had existed back when I was bluffing in that wine aisle.

Everything we recommend follows the same process. We research widely, compare honestly, and rank by who a wine or club actually suits, not by a fictional “best overall.” Every recommendation includes a drawback, because a recommendation without one is just an ad.
