Who operates MyWineMatch
MyWineMatch.com is operated by T3 Evolution AB, Vänderotsvägen 3, 435 40 Mölnlycke, Sweden ("we," "us," or "MyWineMatch"). T3 Evolution AB is the data controller for personal data processed directly by MyWineMatch.
We have written this policy in plain language to explain what the website processes, why it is processed, and the choices you have.
The short version
The wine quiz runs in your browser and does not require an email address to see your result. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. If you choose to enter your email at the end of the quiz to receive your result and opt in to our newsletter, that email address and your wine profile are sent to our email provider, MailerLite, using double opt-in, meaning you must confirm by email before you are subscribed. We do not sell personal information.
Information processed when you visit
Our hosting and security providers process technical request data such as IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, approximate location derived from an IP address, and diagnostic or security logs. This is necessary to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors.
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), via the Site Kit by Google plugin, to understand how the site is used: pages visited, approximate location at the city level, device type, and how you found us, along with quiz interaction events (for example, starting the quiz, answering a question, viewing your result). This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally to us. Google Analytics may set cookies to enable this measurement.
Quiz information
Your quiz choices and result are calculated in your browser to show your wine profile. We record anonymized event data (such as which question you’re on, or that you viewed a result) in Google Analytics to understand how the quiz is used. This does not include your name or email unless you separately choose to provide it, as described below.
At the end of the quiz, you may optionally enter your email address to receive your result by email and opt in to our newsletter. If you do, your email address and your wine profile (for example, "The Bold Explorer") are sent to our email service provider, MailerLite, and you will receive a confirmation email. You are not added to our list until you confirm (double opt-in). If you skip this step, no email address is collected and nothing is sent to MailerLite.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies for Google Analytics 4 to measure site usage as described above. Essential cookies may also be set by our hosting provider to operate and secure the site. You can control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use the quiz or read the site.
Email newsletter
If you opt in, our emails are sent via MailerLite. Every email contains an unsubscribe link. One click and you’re out.
External and affiliate links
Our guides may link to wine clubs, retailers, or other websites. When you follow an external link, that website controls its own privacy practices and cookies. Review its policy before providing personal or payment information.
The commercial links currently published on MyWineMatch are direct, non-affiliate links. If compensated affiliate links are introduced, they will be clearly disclosed and may allow a partner to recognize that a visitor arrived from MyWineMatch. See our affiliate disclosure.
How and why information is used
Technical and analytics information is used to provide the website, understand and improve it, protect it from misuse, troubleshoot problems, and maintain reliable access. Our legal bases under the EU General Data Protection Regulation include our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the site (technical data and analytics), and your consent for the email newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
Service providers, retention, and security
We use a small number of service providers to run the site: our hosting provider, Google (Analytics), and MailerLite (email). They process data on our behalf under their own privacy safeguards. Technical logs are retained according to operational, security, and legal needs. We share data only with these providers as described here, or if required by law.
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service, but no online system can promise absolute security. We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described here or to meet legal obligations.
Your privacy rights
Under the GDPR, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection to processing. You may also complain to a supervisory authority. Our lead authority is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY).
Where the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, California residents may have rights to know, correct, or delete personal information; opt out of its sale or sharing; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and receive equal service when exercising those rights. MyWineMatch does not sell personal information. To exercise a right, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your request before acting on it. Age
MyWineMatch is intended for adults 21 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 21. If you believe a person under 21 has provided information to us, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the date at the top and give appropriate notice of material changes.
